Baxter Bond, and his daughter Isabel, joined Them Thar Hills for an episode on the critical material SAND.

Bax is an engineer, biker, photographer, Yup’ik teacher, and Alaskan energy expert. He is currently pursuing a masters degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Alaska Fairbanks, working at Alaska Center for Energy and Power as a researcher, and works as the staff lead for the Alaska Chapter of the American Indian Science Engineering Society (AISES).

An inventor in his own right, Bax developed a fuel usage meter called pump monitoring apparatus (PuMA), as well as lead programmer on MiGRIDS Lite, a simplified modeling software to model renewable energy sources in rural microgrids.
